I was there to experience it all. The bottom line is, Labree Motorsports wouldn't even know what a Z32 was if it wasn't for Greg Dupree. First of all I can promise you Labree didn't even write his post in reply to Gregs muffler post a couple of days ago. He had someone with knowledge of what needs to written properly write it for him. I have known Brent Labree for almost half of my life and he has No Tact. I would put all my chips in on that without hesitation. Labree is the one who is out to make a quick dollar, not Greg Dupree. Danny and I fought for so many years to keep quality control up at Labree Motorsports and it was an ongoing losing battle with that man. When you lack the proper tools, facility, and an owner who takes pride in nothing aside of degrading individual people and and complete ethnic groups you get the environment Danny and myself(Tony) left. Honestly, you can't blame anyone for not wanting to be there. Customers don't care about his Truck or his Fifth wheel, or his stock Z. that I might add is a toilet. Consumers care about a quality product, and impeccable customer service. As a consumer I know I do. People, I cannot stress this enough, the original split down pipe is Greg Dupree's design. The super split is my design, and the new down pipe(Fatty) is a joint design between Fast Intentions and SpecialyZ.
We are trying hard to make a cost effective product that gives the maximum in horsepower gains throughout the entire powerband. Not a product that give 14 HP for 1000 usable rpms at the top, get my drift! Labree Motorsports came out with this product as a last ditch to save the minimal Z32 market he still has. He undercuts prices in effort to try and get under our skin. My business in ten times farther in 1 year then we were ever at Labree Motorsports. He was a drain to everyone around him, and as racist as they come. I know making false accusations is serious, but I can promise you my accusations are anything but false.
Just do a comparison. Labree has maybe 10 dyno pulls in his entire life. SpecialtyZ has done hundreds and hundreds. Before Specialty Z releases a product they do countless hours of R&D to get it right the first time. Labree sees peak power and says his Down pipes are effective. Well if everyone drives around at 6000 rpms sure, maybe a little more effective but we all don’t live at the race track. People want useable power, not just peak.
He offers his door open to anyone. IMO that’s bold, because if I owned a 1700 square foot dungeon I wouldn't want anyone to see it. See you have to look at it like this, if you cannot take pride in your work place how can you take pride in your product. When your motto is and I quote Brent Labree" 80 miles an hour down the freeway no one can see it anyways" how do you build a superior product with superior customer service to go along with it. You don’t, you have a result of the ultimate split. Look at the pictures on his website, the transitions in the down pipes are all over the place, nothing looks uniform. Nothing looks tasteful.
Every picture you see on his website of a polished product in the Z32 page, was the exact picture Danny or I took while we were still there. Let me make it real clear, those are pictures of products I built. In fact most of the pictures on his website were picture of products Danny or I built. The pictures of the Lamborghini muffler really get me. I'll tell you why! That muffler was built by another shop and he puts things like that on his website miss-leading the public as to if they think he built it. The pics. of the Lambo tips are pics I took on a Sunday afternoon when I finished them. Labree was never even there. Look enough about that. You get my point on that topic!
One last thing to add and then I am done. Greg Dupree is an Icon in this community, we are all lucky to have him and Sebastian because they really care about your needs and customer satisfaction. I have learned alot about business from Greg Dupree. I have applied tactics in other markets that I have have seen him use here. They work, because of it my business is successful in many other areas.
Labree will shoot himself in the foot sooner or later, just give him enough time and he will do it. Now, if anyone wants to see how a presentable shop looks, and functions check out ours at w[ www.fastintentions.com ]
Greg keep up the good work, we all have your back and continue to do what you do.....Tony(FastIntentions)
